Client Brief & Site Context
The client envisioned two separate living zones within the same grand open space — a formal drawing room and a casual TV lounge — while maintaining a visual connection between them. The design had to exude luxury, cultural richness, and a sense of warmth for family gatherings.
Our Design Approach
After exploring multiple layouts and presentation options, we proposed the modern classical jhoola as the defining element, placed between the formal and informal living areas. This decision created a natural division while adding cultural depth and aesthetic charm. The theme blended Indian traditional interior elements with modern furniture and contemporary accents for a timeless appeal.
Work Process & Presentations
The process began with meticulous spatial zoning to ensure functional flow and visual symmetry. Multiple furniture layouts were presented to the client, exploring various ways to position the lounge and formal seating. Moodboards showcased the interplay of traditional finishes — stone, floor inlays, brass — with modern furniture lines. The approved concept was transformed into detailed 3D visualisations to allow the client to experience the design before execution.
Design & Styling Highlights
The jhoola became the centrepiece of the double-height living space, framed by a mix of stone walls, intricate floor inlays, warm veneers, matte brass details, wall murals, mirrors, and textured finishes. The formal living room retained a stately elegance, while the lounge invited relaxation, all tied together with cohesive styling.
Final Delivery
The completed living and lounge areas now stand as the heart of the home — grand yet inviting, culturally rooted yet modern. The jhoola not only divides the zones but also unites the family in its presence, becoming the true signature of this home’s character.
Our home feels 'truly ours' thanks to Aarati’s thoughtful design. Every piece of furniture was custom-created just for us, and the beautiful jhoola has become the heart of our living space. It’s a perfect blend of warmth, tradition, and modern comfort.
